Unified records reduced administrative overhead, facilitated telemedicine adoption, and enabled regulators to verify compliance through auditable reporting dashboards.
"Birth is one of our most formative experiences, a universal rite of passage that can have significant, lifelong physical and emotional consequences".(Franklyn Sills) - The pioneer of Biodynamic craniosacral therapy.
In his article he goes on to speak about his own prenatal and birth experience. That they were intense, his mother having lost a son before him. Her womb was intense and stressful due to her anxiety and fear of losing another baby. He was two months premature and so was placed in an incubator. It still affects him that no-one touched him and the bright lights were overwhelming. Franklyn Sills can talk openly about these experiences as his life's work has revolved around developing this work that is profound and remarkable.
My own birth experience was intense also. It was scary. I could not get out. The walls of my mothers womb felt like a brick wall and hostile. I couldn't understand this as I had a loving mother and a comfortable upbringing. The person facilitating our birth consciousness course, was guiding me through the experience. I did not understand why it felt so. "Often women hold their armoury ( a self protection energetically held as a result of abandonment or trauma) in their pelvis." This then made so much sense knowing my mothers story and what had beheld her. My mother always told the story from her point of view that I had been late( Well thats because I couldn't get out!! and felt trapped!; Interestingly I hate lifts. ) and when I did arrive I came so quickly it was a huge shock for her!! so it must have been painless for me!! But the truth was, It was very scary and I hated it. I arrived with fury and a rage that led my mother to leave me at the bottom of the garden ( in my pram ) as I incessantly screamed.
"Prenates and birthing infants are conscious, sentient beings who make decisions about their experience and take shape accordingly" Franklyn Sills.
I do not remember learning as a young pregnant girl that my baby was having a conscious experience, as a sentient being in my womb. Yes, I was aware that it was vital to eat a balanced and healthy diet and to not be around a smoky atmosphere ( long before the laws that prohibited inside smoking!). Its also our relationships, our emotions and our experiences too that they can have a sense of in the womb.
I wish I had known all those years ago about craniosacral therapy and the benefits it offers to our newborns, children and ourselves! It is now widely recognised that taking a newborn for a craniosacral session can offer huge benefits.
Your baby might need some gentle craniosacral treatment if you had a difficult and traumatic birth. If it was a long labour; complicated or very quick and sudden. If the birth did not go according to plan or if there was an assisted delivery where a venteuse was used or even forceps to aid the delivery. Even a C section. All of these interventions, albeit necessary in the moment, will have an impact on your baby's experience and how they are feeling in their first few weeks,
I have had parents call me for several reasons when they have a newborn. One such couple were concerned their newborn completely favoured turning her head to one side. Distinctly so. This can often be restrictions held in the body from how they were positioned in the womb or even as a result of the birth process and the movement the baby had to go through to enter into the world. CST can help with its gentle touch with the process of the head and body re aligning.
Your baby might be like me, and cry incessantly for what seems no apparent reason. Even though they've been fed, and changed and had a good nap! There are many reasons why babies cry. It is their only means of communication in the first few weeks. However, unexplained crying can be very concerning. CST can help to relax and reset the baby's body. Do not underestimate how allowing a baby to scream with rage whilst being held and met with kindness and empathy is a key methodology to enhancing their feeling of being safe.
I recently had a baby who had colic. Its so common in newborns but very frustrating and tiring for the new mum. After a few sessions we were able to soothe and settle the baby. Mum chose to stop consuming dairy ( as this is mucus forming and can make the breast milk acidic!) She instead started juicing and drinking fresh organic carrot juice. ( Carrot juice makes excellent breast milk!! - did you know that!?) I also blended a special roman chamomile essential oil for her to gently massage into his tummy after his bath. A combination of this and some gentle cst sessions worked wonders.
Babies heads are designed to move through the birth canal. The neo-natal skull is not yet fused and acts somewhat like a piece of plasticine to enable the baby's head to manoeuvre through the birth canal, leaving the head often looking misshapen for a few weeks. CST can help with its gentle touch with the process of the head re-aligning.
